Description

The Modern Edge Z Counterform is ideal for cast-in-place concrete countertops where a reverse bevel edge profile is desired.

90" Full Package -  includes eight - 90" pieces (60 linear feet) and eight - 90" backwall pieces (60 linear feet).

90" Half Package -  includes four - 90" pieces (30 linear feet) and four - 90" backwall pieces (30 linear feet).

To use, place 1/2" cement board (Durock or Hardie Backer) on top of the cabinets and held in place with silicon caulking. **With this profile only, you will want to overhang the cement board 1/2" past the front of the cabinets. This will make sure that the drawer fronts do not protrude past the concrete edge.** The forms will then be screwed into the cement board with a 5/8" x #10 panhead screw . After the concrete is poured, the forms are snapped off along the designated "break point" to reveal a beautiful clean edge.

easy to use

"I got the 1/2 box, i.e. 4 fronts/4backs, but mine came with only 3 backs. I installed with construction glue allowed to setup over night. 1 hour pour time, 2 days drying time then removed the edging. Looks great!"

Customer service

"I purchased the whole package of concrete, molding and stains and had a major issue with the concrete. I called and sent in pictures and video of the results. Even though we don’t truly know if it was the concrete mix from Home Depot or theirs. The company didn’t hesitate to rectify the situation they sent out new molds and supplies to do it again. I only had to pay for the shipping which was fair. I appreciated the fast response and look forward to seeing the final results this next week."

Worked Great

"Everything worked just as described. The negative I have isn’t about the product but the shipping costs on everything from heavy to light is expensive!"

Z counterform edge

"Worked great! Will buy again!"

Luke (5/5)

Excellent.

"The edge was easy to install, and performed very well in several configurations in a custom kitchen. Used a Hitachi Magic Wand to vibrate the fill, which left extremely smooth, hard edges with NO perceivable voids. Super happy with the results."

Great product!

"The modern edge came out great along with my countertop. There were zero air pockets and the surface was a smooth as polished marble when I broke off the edge guards. The support videos were fantastic but don't mention timeframes. Be prepared for this to take the entire day. I started at 8pm because of business hours in the location I was at. I was working until 2am troweling. Sections still needed more time to dry and metal trowel but I had to throw in the towel. It still came out very cool!"

Q&A

Do the back wall pieces break off also
They do not. They stay behind and are normally covered by your backsplash. You can also use a small bead of caulking to cover if you do not have backsplash in a certain area.
Will epoxy stick to this form, or will it release after cure?
Technically, epoxy will not adhere to the Countertop Forms, however, the thickness of the form is not really designed for epoxy pours.
What should be used for returns in the countertop such as the stove opening? I need the countertop to be flush (square) with the end of the cabinet in a few locations.
We just use a 1x4 or a piece of finish plywood. We do show this in detail in our "Full Instructional Video" around the 5 minute mark. I would watch this because there are some other tips in there.
