Description

The Half Bullnose Z Counterform is ideal for cast-in-place concrete countertops where a slightly rounded edge profile is desired.

Full Package -  includes eight - 90" profile pieces (60 linear feet) and eight - 90" backwall pieces (60 linear feet).

Half Package -  includes four - 90" profile pieces (30 linear feet) and four - 90" backwall pieces (30 linear feet).

To use, place 1/2" cement board (Durock or Hardie Backer) on top of the cabinets. The cement board should be cut flush to the edge of the cabinets and held in place with silicon caulking. The forms will then be screwed into the cement board with a 5/8" x #10 panhead screw . After the concrete is poured, the forms are snapped off along the designated "break point" to reveal a beautiful clean edge.

Q&A

How thick is the backwall piece? That is, the top edge that is left exposed after screeding and finishing, how wide is the exposed edge? Narrow enough to cover it with a bead of caulking if backsplash or trim isn't being used?
Yes, it is only about 1/4" and is easily covered with a bead of caulk or any backsplash that will be installed.
What do i do for the area above dishwasher for support?
The typical dishwasher opening is only 24"/ The cement board can typically span this no problem. If you do feel you need extra support (depending no the backer board being used), you can always put a temporary 2x4 leg in this section or put a nailer on the back wall.
Does the full kit come with an edge expert?
No, the edge expert is sold separately. The form packages just include the front profile form and the back wall form.
Just to confirm, the countertop thickness from top of cement board is 1-5/8"? Based on spec pic, I believe the edge drops 7/8 below cement board to give a total front edge profile of 2-1/4"?
Yes, thickness from top of cement board is 1-5/8. The drop is 5/8" (not 7/8") to cover 1/2" backer board which gives you a front edge thickness of 2-1/4".
Is the backplate made to also easily snap off? I want to use the straight edge for the range.
No, the back wall form will not snap away. We usually form up the range opening with a piece of 1x4. You can see how this is done in our "Full Instructional Video" around the 5 minute mark.
Do you sell individual pieces?
Unfortunately we do not at this time. We package all of the forms on the manufacturing line so we do not break kits apart once they arrive at our warehouse.
Is this form flexible enough to curve around a 16-foot radius circle?
NO, this form will not bend at all even on a gentle radius. However, you can add relief cuts that will allow it to bend. Please email us for more info on how to do so.
